Independently assessed Melanosis inhibition with PrawnFresh

Evaluation & Methodology

Assessment was carried out into the inhibition of melanosis, microbial and quality changes in Whitetail Shrimp (penaeus vannamei) and Black Tiger Shrimp (penaeus monodon) during refrigerated and deep frozen storage. PrawnFresh™ was applied to shrimp during chill kill at farm and cold chain maintained throughout evaluation, until the product was inside freezer. Chlorine was avoided but normal levels in potable water is acceptable.

Microbial growth and antimelanotic results were observed and assessed at timed intervals in the treated produce according to the aerobic plate count method described in Microbiological Methods and Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Some of these results are shown in the images and videos below.

Verifiable Results
